Schweinshaxe is German roasted ham hock. This guy was gigantic, I tell ya. It was about as big as a medium-sized cantaloupe, no exaggeration. It came with sauerkraut and fried onions and potatoes too, but the meat was more than enough. Perfectly roasted, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside…mmmmmm. Gosh, the delicacy, the luxury, just the pure indulgence of it!
