Hokkien fried rice

Item: Hokkien fried rice, 福建炒飯
Date: November 2, 2014
Location: Ka Ka Lok, Glasgow, Scotland
Rating: ★★★★★★★★☆☆

After arriving in Glasgow, I had to familiarize myself with the Chinese food scene as I’d be staying there for three years. The first Chinese restaurant that I visited was Ka Ka Lok, where I ordered a classic Hokkien fried rice for take-away. It is a favourite of my family and contains goodies like char siu and shrimp with a thick and savoury sauce. I was rather impressed with the first Chinese food experience in Glasgow and I would later find out that the city has its fair share of good Chinese restaurants!
